Schulich School of Music of McGill University | 2024-2025 Season Brochure

Page 1

Discover the 2024 — 2025 season at the Schulich School of Music of McGill University.

A season thoughtfully crafted with something for everyone.

This year, we’re embracing the richness of diversity in our performances, venues, and audiences.

As Pollack Hall undergoes renovations, our music will resonate throughout Montreal like never before, bringing our students to a variety of concert halls across the city. Whether you are joining us in the intimate Tanna Schulich Hall, at the majestic Maison symphonique or at the historical Redpath Hall, in the modern Multimedia Room or any of the many venues that will host our large ensembles, there is a concert waiting for you.

Setting the stage for a year of musical exploration, the McGill Wind Orchestra performs at FACE Auditorium, the McGill Symphony Orchestra opens their season at Vanier College, and Redpath Hall welcomes the return of McGill Sings featuring all our choirs. Opera McGill’s production of Adam Guettel’s musical The Light in the Piazza at Ludger-Duvernay Hall will be a wonderful way to ring in the new year! We’re proud to celebrate our students’ extraordinary talents throughout the year with the Concerto Competitions and Chamber Music Competition and be sure to join us for the tenth edition of the Wirth Vocal Prize! There’s truly something for everyone this season. For the budding musician eager to dive into new experiences, our performances, lectures, and masterclasses offer a gateway to discovery. For the commuter ready to explore the city’s musical landscape, our concerts across Montreal will make the trip worthwhile. The aficionado will find a wealth of performances to deepen their appreciation, while the sampler will delight in the variety of concert series perfect for busy schedules. If you'd like us to guide you, we’re offering curated and discounted ticket packages in the Fall and Winter to help you experience a little bit of everything (see page 27). And for those who can’t join us in person, our webcasts bring the music to you, ensuring you’re always part of our community.

As you peruse our season, you’ll find events that move, inspire, and resonate with you, no matter where you are on your musical journey. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned concertgoer, a local or a visitor, your seat is waiting. Let’s make this season unforgettable—together!
