Distribution is like guiding products from where they're made to where they're needed. It's about sorting out how things are moved, stored, and delivered. Distribution ensures products get to the right places at the right times, keeping everything running smoothly.
Logistics makes sure everything, from planning to delivery, happens in the best way possible. It's like a well-coordinated dance, saving money, using resources wisely, and making customers happy by giving them what they need on time.

THE ROLE
Bus drivers keep communities moving by driving scheduled routes, complying with traffic laws, and holding a PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) license along with a Driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence). They stop at designated bus stops, issue tickets, and assist passengers with route information. While primarily working independently, they occasionally collaborate with colleagues, like "drivers mates," and function as part of a team at the depot to ensure the smooth operation of the bus network.
CONSIDERATION & REQUIREMENTS
Bus drivers need strong driving skills, customer service aptitude, and maintain passenger safety. They must possess a full car driving license before training for a bus license, with ongoing training to maintain necessary licenses like the Driver CPC. They work varied hours, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
THE TRAINING
THE SALARY
In the UK, the average salary for a new bus driver is £18,000 annually, but it can go up to £34,000 for experienced drivers.
To legally drive a Bus, or coach in the UK you must have a valid Driver CPC and PVC licence by passing a series of theory, driving and safety tests.
Stagecoach offer a comprehensive programme to obtain these, which starts with classroom learning including the PCV theory test, followed by training on how to drive a bus out on the road. You will gain experience of a wide range of environments, traffic conditions and road types.
There will be further training on how to use their internal systems, how to provide a high level of customer service to all passengers and disability awareness training.
