The whole school attendance for this week is 95.8%, with Elm Class achieving 99.2%.

We had a very busy Stay and Play session this week! If you have a baby or toddler, come along on a Thursday morning 9:15-10:45am.

Father Peter came in for a meeting and we planned lots of activities for us to link with church over the term including the St. Oswald’s Mothering Sunday service.

Today 13 pupils from Year 5 and 6 are taking part in the small schools’ athletics competition at Myerscough College – they did very well finishing in second!

Disco We are having a disco on Wednesday 7th February in school to raise funds for Brian House as part of the Elmer’s Big Parade event. The cost will be £3 per child and we will have sweets, drinks and glow sticks on sale. Drop-off at 5:30pm and collect at 7pm. Bookings will be open on Parent Pay from next week.

If you would like your child to stay through and attend After-School Club before the disco, please book early so we can ensure we have enough staff. They will be provided with tea. Please send in clothes for them to change into.

Parent Pay As we are approaching the end of the financial year, we would appreciate it if you could pay any outstanding balances on Parent Pay. If your child has a class activity coming up that has a cost attached to it, please make sure you pay before the event.

We try to keep costs to a minimum and subsidise where possible.

Parents of pupils in nursery should have received an invoice for the half-term if you have top-up fees.

Dance Competition It is not long now until 26 of our pupils will be taking part in the Wyre and Fylde Schools’ Dance Competition at the Tower Ballroom. If your child is involved, please complete and return the permission form and send any costume items into school next week. There will be a £5 per child cost for transport to Blackpool which will be on Parent Pay. We are looking forward to watching their dress rehearsal next Friday!

Early Years Holiday Club We have a few spaces still available if you need childcare in the February half-term holiday. Please get in touch for more information.

Nursery Places We are sending nursery registration forms home to any parents who have babies or toddlers so we can get an idea of numbers for our next 3 intakes: September 2024; September 2025 and September 2026.

This helps to form part of our three-year financial forecast. Please complete the form and return to the school office. You do not need to complete the section on sessions until the term before they are due to start.

Swimming Wednesday

All Age Worship

7th February St. Oswald’s Church now have a regular On Wednesday 7th February, we have a all age worship on the first Sunday of member of Lancashire Music Service coming each month, which is a child-friendly into school to deliver a workshop to the service. We would love some of our pupils taking part in the Big Sing event at families to attend. The next one will be Lowther Pavilion on March 5th.

Sunday 4th February at 10:30am. I will be Any pupils in the swimming group who are attending this service so if your child involved in the Big Sing will not be able to would like to come along with me, I am attend swimming that day. happy for them to be dropped off and We will be adapting the swimming group for picked up afterwards.
