Do you want to learn about what has become one of the defining arts forms of our generation? Are you interested in exploring World Cinema? How does film fit into our culture? How is Stanley Kubrick’s directing style different from that of Alfred Hitchcock’s? What effect does the choice of camera angles or lighting have on a film?

Is Film Studies for you? You must have achieved at least 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including English Language. You want to learn about the mechanics of Film-Making. You would like to examine films from a wide variety of genres, directors, countries and times.

You would like to expand your understanding and enjoyment of film. You want to gain an insight into the film industry and the importance of film in modern culture. You want to develop your independent research and analytical skills. You want to understand how films are made and sold in a Global Market.
