The existence of diversity in the classroom allows students to consider perspectives and opinions beyond those they have already formed or were shaped in early life by family and friends.

Presenting students with vantage

points far different from their own gives them the opportunity to think critically about their own beliefs and examine the world in different ways. As noted by the article, fostering inclusion and awareness around multicultural education and taking a culturally responsive approach to teaching benefits all students. Hazel Health

As shared in the county communications: "PGCPS is excited to announce our new partnership with Hazel Health that will allow students to complete urgent medical care visits or therapy sessions virtually! Hazel’s doctors and therapists will be available to see students while they are at home or at school. Services will be available at no cost to every student, regardless of their family’s insurance or financial situation. This is an expansion of our present physical and mental health services. More information is coming soon."

-Give someone a "thank you" note to let them know you appreciate them.

- Leave a sticky note for someone at home thanking them for something you appreciate that they did for you.

-Every birthday, write a list of things you are grateful for.

Parents, here are ways you can teach gratitude to your child(ren).

- Have conversations about gratitude.

-Make "thank you" a regular phrase.

-Plan a "Do Good Day" once a month, where you and your child(ren) can do something good for others and show gratitude.
