CADIZ—After a Jeep 4x4 spun out of control on Route 9 and rolled at least twice on Tuesday, one passenger was thrown from the vehicle. Five others also riding in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and are all doing well, according to Cadiz Police Lt. Ron Carter.

One individual was life-flighted to UPMC in Pittsburgh but is recovering after suffering multiple injuries, per Carter. At least two were wearing seat belts, but any more than that could not be confirmed.
The Jeep was traveling toward Cadiz when one of the passengers said a wheel flew off, causing the vehicle to spin out of control. Excessive speed is suspected to be a factor, too, according to Carter. All six passengers were juveniles, and Carter stated that charges are expected. Parts of the axle were seen lying on the roadside, and glass was strewn over the entire area; every window, except the front windshield, was either blown out or had been rolled down.
Hopedale, Cadiz, Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz Fire, and the Ohio Highway State Patrol were on scene, shutting the state road down for approximately two hours.
