Rhome said there may be active cases out there where people do not know they have the virus but if they feel sick, to isolate yourself and contact your doctor. This was also the first week in a year that Rhome did not have to appear before the county commissioners with his weekly updates as restrictions are being lifted and cases are dropping around the area and the nation. That doesn’t mean there are no concerns as the state is reporting

But the article also quotes a state official as saying the variant is seen less in Ohio than the national average. “Dr. Anthony Fauci said during a press briefing earlier Tuesday that the variant makes up 20.6% of recent U.S. cases, up from just 1.2% on May 8,” per the Spectrum article. “From the reports that we’ve seen, patients are showing up a lot sicker, and it seems to be a quicker onset for symptoms,” P Canner said, the vice president of regulatory, clinical and research programs for Gravity Diagnostics, an Ohio lab that has detected the variant, according to Spectrum. “People are having very slight exposures and they seem to be catching it.” Dr. Antony Fauci, in his Tuesday press conference, called the variant the “greatest threat in the U.S. to our attempt to eliminate COVID-19.” He said this variant is now making up 20.6 percent of U.S. cases versus just 1.2 percent reported in early May.

Cadiz hosts innagural Crusin’ on the Square

The inaugural Cruisin on the Square was held Saturday in the heart of Cadiz and after threatening weather with sun broke through, people turned out but not quite what they had hoped. Police Chief and CBA member Ryan McCann said several food vendors backed out for various reasons and might also have hurt attendance. But the Cruisin car show was sweet with a decent supply of classics to feast the eyes on. Some of the pretty ones were a 1957 Chevy and much older cars that have been seen driving the area. The music provided by Hoard and Jones were top notch as usual and the weather remained nice. The local CBA was also on hand helping to raise money for the gazebo that is to be constructed at some point on the green space.
