This project is supported by the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, with funding from the State of Utah and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
A partnership with the James & Andrea Clarke Family will allow us to make continued improvements to SCERA Center for the Arts – the first was a complete repainting of the outside of our unique historic venue! The Clarke Grand Theatre is clean, comfortable and elegant – and with a giant 40' x 20' screen, 733 seats and incredible digital projection and sound – our presentation of your favorite feature films is the best around! And, with the best ticket and concession prices in town, we hope you'll support your local independent theatre, where proceeds go back into the community to support SCERA's charitable non-profit artistic mission!

(Production Stage Manager)
Danielle works as SCERA’s Production Manager and Administrative Assistant, and has stage managed more shows than she can count. A favorite experience was stage managing three shows at the 2018 Edinburgh, Scotland Fringe F estival. Danielle has costume designed shows for SCERA and COPA Youth Theatre. “Thanks to the cast and production team who remind me why I love this crazy world of theater, and the biggest thank you to my friends and family for supporting me in what I love to do."
(Sally) Rebecca is delighted to return to the stage in The Cat in the Hat after a two-year hiatus. Her most recent performances include Luisa in The Fantasticks and Brenda Strong in Catch Me If You Can. With over 20 years of performing experience, Rebecca also loves the creative process of choreographing musicals. Some notable choreography credits include A Christmas Story at SCERA Center and Crazy for You at SCERA Shell Outdoor Theatre. In addition to her creative pursuits, Rebecca serves as the Dance Education Director and Volunteer Coordinator at SCERA, where she shares her love of the arts with others. She is grateful for the support of her husband, Mitchell, and their son, Banks, as well as the talented cast and production team, especially Danielle and Brodee. “Enjoy the show and thank you for supporting the arts!”
(Cat in the Hat) Cam is thrilled to be back on stage after a decade-long break from musical theater. He recently appeared as Bobby in SCERA Shell’s 2024 production
of Crazy For You and as Professor Bhaer in Ideal Playhouse’s production of Little Women. When he’s not belting out high notes or perfecting jazz hands, Cam is deep in legal tomes as a student at BYU Law School. He firmly believes that all the world’s a stage — whether it’s under the bright lights of the theater or the stern gaze of a judge.
(Thing 2 / Kitten) Gwen is stoked to be making her SCERA debut! Having performed in various productions across Utah County, she could not be more grateful to be back on stage! Previously seen as Banquo in Macbeth (Utah Valley Players), Helena in A Midsummer Nights Dream (Lone Peak High), and Ensemble in Sweeney Todd (Utah Valley Players). Special thanks to Opal for being my Thing One onstage and off!
(Lighting & Sound Designer) Chase has been involved in theater since he was 11 in SCERA’s Oliver. At age 15, he began working at the Lehi Arts Center, where he has run and designed countless productions in lighting and audio. Chase currently serves as SCERA’s Sound and Lighting Manager, and has designed lighting for many of SCERA’s Theatre for Young Audiences productions, most recently for A Christmas Story: The Musical and James and The Giant Peach. “I dedicate my work to my grandparents Jerry & Barbara. They introduced me to theater and music at a young age. My grandma taught me piano for many years, and I had the honor of working with my grandpa for several productions here at SCERA. Love and miss you guys, ‘Ya done good!’”
(Boy / Scene Shop Manager)
Zippy graduated from UVU with an AA in Theatre Arts. He has been doing theater since 5th grade when he was in his elementary school's production of Guys and Dolls Jr. and has loved it ever since. Zippy started off acting, but he also found his love for backstage along the way. He’s spent the past years at SCERA working on sets and backstage, and designed the sets for The Play That Goes Wrong, Cinderella: The Tale of the Glass Slipper and A Christmas Story: The Musical. In front of the lights, Zippy’s been seen as an actor at SCERA in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, High School Musical On Stage, and The Play That Goes Wrong, and he is excited to be back on stage!
(Prop Shop Manager)
Karen recently joined the SCERA Family as the new Prop Shop Manager. Karen has an extensive design background, from interior architecture and design to event and theatrical design. Originally from Idaho, she has made Orem her home and is excited to bring her experience and talent to SCERA’s live theatre productions and special events.
(Fish) Carley is thrilled to make her acting debut in this production of The Cat in the Hat! Previously, she has been featured in several dancing roles, such as the Snow Queen in A Very Jazzy Nutcracker and Nala in Rhythm of the Lion. Carley has also choreographed two original productions for the Angelus Theater in Spanish Fork and directed 31 Days of Tapoween on Instagram. She thanks her friends and family, and especially her husband, for their support and encouragement.
(Scenic Designer) Chase was recently seen in movie theaters for Horizon: Part 1 from Warner Brothers. Also Falling for Christmas (Netflix), Sweet Pecan Summer (Hallmark), The Storied Life of AJ Fikry (Amazon), Yellowstone (Paramount), and The Book of Mormon Musical on Broadway playing Elder Cunningham. Director of the new film Scratchy, Cage, and Tumbleweed as well as Forget the Rest. Also known for his work as a past Food Network host and director/writer for the Walt Disney Company. He is the co-founder of King Cup Productions. Recent directing credits with SCERA have been Bright Star, The Little Mermaid, Into the Woods, Oklahoma, and The Play that Goes Wrong. (Director) Brodee is beyond excited to be directing The Cat in the Hat, working with some of his favorite people. Brodee has performed at SCERA, Brigham Young University, Utah Valley University, Hale Center Theater Orem, Hale Centre Theatre Sandy, Sundance Summer Theater, and The Historic Jackson Hole Playhouse, and was seen on this stage earlier this season as Grasshopper in James and the Giant Peach. Some of his favorite productions to direct/choreograph have been The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Seussical. He currently works at SCERA as Assistant Director / Choreographer for their national award winning high school company, Acting Up, and is the Rentals & Special Events Coordinator. This show wouldn’t have been possible without Danielle and this amazing cast and crew! Brodee sends a huge thank you to his SCERA family, his shop family, his actual family, and particularly his Mom. “This one's for you Pops.”
(Costume Designer)
Kelsey is grateful for the opportunity to design and work in the SCERA Costume Shop for the last seventeen years. Some favorite shows she has designed are Bright Star, Singin’ in the Rain, Mary Poppins, The Addams Family, A Christmas Story, Seven Brides, The Little Mermaid, My Fair Lady, Seussical, Shrek, Aida, Beauty and the Beast and many others too numerous to mention. "Thanks to my family for their support, and my husband and three great kids that put up with late nights!"
(Thing 1 / Kitten)
Opal is so excited to be back on the SCERA stage! After performing here several times in high school in roles such as Cinderella in Cinderella Kids, Torrey in Freaky Friday, and The Crocodile in Just So, Opal fell in love with the backstage process and now works behind the scenes at The Ruth and Nathan Hale Theater. She is ecstatic to get the chance to play on stage again, and hopes to return many more times in the future!
