Sail the rivers of Europe Europe’s enchanting network of rivers sweep through culture-rich cities, towns as old as time, and regions of unparalleled beauty. A Europe river cruise provides the most captivating passage through the history of this diverse continent.
Rhône River Slowly flowing towards the Mediterranean Sea from beautiful old Lyon, the Rhône cuts a serene path through the heart of France. Medieval cities and Roman ruins line the river as it journeys south through ancient villages and prosperous towns. ■ T he Rhône is 813km long with the largest water flow of all France’s waterways. ■ E merald Liberté Star-Ship, which launched in 2017, is specially-commissioned to sail the French rivers.
Saône River Descending from the slopes of the purple Vosges Mountains, the Saône gently meanders through fields of sunflowers and sweeps of wheat. The river bank is dotted with the picturesque towns of Chalon-sur-Saône, Tournon, and Macon as the Saône weaves its path south to Lyon. ■ T he Saône of eastern France is a right-tributary of the Rhône, which is 480km long.

Douro River The Douro runs through one of Europe’s most beautiful stretches of countryside, flanked by vineyards under the warming Portuguese sun. Traditional wineries and charming villages break up the fields of green which typify the Douro region. ■ T he Douro at 765km long is one of the longest rivers of the Iberian Peninsula. ■ Emerald Radiance, our most intimate Star-Ship in Europe to date, with a capacity of 112 guests sails the Iberian waters.

Rhine River With age-old castles and medieval towns flanking its river bank, the Rhine showcases the beautiful fairytale landscape of western Germany. Experience the history and ancient culture of this country with an Emerald Cruises river cruise, past sweeping countryside and the classic timber houses of the region. ■ T he Rhine, the principle river of Europe is 1,320km long and flows through six countries including Switzerland, Germany and France. ■ O ne of the highlights of any river cruise on the Rhine is approaching Cologne for the first time, when you catch your first glimpse of Kölner Dom.

Danube River The Danube journeys through the very heart of Europe, calling in at some of the world’s most elegant, vibrant and influential cities. Multiple capitals, including Budapest, Vienna, Bratislava and Belgrade sit along the course of this beautiful waterway. ■ T he Danube is 2,850km long, second in length only to the Russian Volga amongst European rivers. ■ A n important trade route and military vantage point, many of Europe’s finest architectural sights are found along this river.

On the Danube, Rhine, Main and Rhône our Star-Ship’s most innovative feature has to be the pool. With a retractable roof you can feel the river breeze as you take a dip in our heated pool, in the evenings watch in awe as the pool transforms into a cinema.
A panoramic rooftop space, home to a walking track, putting green and games area*, as well as deck chairs and sun-loungers, perfect for enjoying the spectacular scenery along Europe’s most iconic rivers.
To make the most of the Portuguese sun, our Emerald Radiance Star-Ship sailing the Douro instead has a spa-style Serenity Pool situated on the Sun Deck. The perfect spot to unwind and take in the awe-inspiring landscapes and endless beauty of the Douro Valley.

The social heartbeat of our Star-Ships, comfortable and exceptionally modern, this haven is one of the most popular areas of our vessels. Enjoy local wines, beers, spirits, cocktails or a variety of teas and coffees whilst catching up with new-found friends in the relaxed setting. When the evening arrives, we have a medley of entertainment planned especially for you.
Situated at the front of the ship on the Horizon Deck, The Terrace boasts breath-taking views. Enjoy coffee and croissants for breakfast and a variety of local light bites for lunch as you watch areas of outstanding natural beauty pass by.
Reflections Restaurant Reflections Restaurant is the centre point of our on board dining experience with a continuously evolving menu capturing seasonal and regional flavours to complement your days ashore. Begin your mornings with a hearty breakfast from the buffet offering hot and cold favourites. Following a morning of exploration is a delicious lunch back on board, choose from regional delicacies, as well as many classics. Dinner is a celebration, enjoy an enticing buffet or á la carte menu with new friends while indulging in sumptuous dining in the most charming of settings. Included with every lunch and dinner served on board is a choice of wine, beer and soft drinks. Our wonderfully attentive team will always be on-hand to help you choose a drink to complement your chosen meal. *
