Head Girl’s welcome

Tēnā koutou,

It feels surreal to assume a role which has been held by girls whom I have admired since my first year in this College in 2010. However, 12 years later, I know that the example set by those previous leaders will help me tremendously to lead this school with the same empathy, gratitude and integrity so that I can continue their legacy.

As Head Girl, I urge St Cuthbert’s students to partake in new experiences, to venture beyond our comfort zones and to make strong connections with all of those around us. As important as it is to be focused on goals and ambitions, it is equally important to take the time to prioritise our own needs, to seize every moment and make good memories.

St Cuthbert’s students have shown outstanding resilience and flexibility over the past two years, so no matter what obstacle blocks our path, I know that we will deftly move past it. I encourage our students to take advantage of the time that we have together. Make sure to speak up in class, reach out to students we have not spoken to, and most importantly, treat everyone following our motto, ‘By Love Serve’.

Ngā mihi,

Ishannita Chaudhuri
