Concept

This white daffodil grows alone. It may symbolize second chances. But when a daffodil grows alone it symbolizes misfortune. It is trying to bloom and rebirth themselves and folds when they are scared or not able to complete the blooming act. It shows how indecisive is the flower to bloom. It needs someone to approach and push the button to take control of their decisions and actions because their indecisiveness. The complex shapes of their petals represent how life works. Even though life is full complexity it can also fold delicately and indeed systematically. In the end we just need to be more grateful on the little fortunate moments in life, therefore we can try to bloom again and by that people can see your glow.

03 Background I have passed Taipei Main Station a few times and I always see many homeless people but I never actually talked to them. I was scared but yet still excited to interact with them because I can see their warmth from afar by how the homeless people interact with each other. They also looked comfortable in their little forts made out of cardboards. After successfully approaching them, I felt more ease because I realised how friendly they are. I see and observe their innocent eyes, I slowly started to see that they are not that dangerous.

Progress This project really open up a new sight of me towards homeless people. Me and my team mates create spaces and structures from cardboards like the homeless people do.

It is interesting because they might not have houses or buildings to live in but they felt like their already at their home because they found convenience in such simplicity.

It is such an honor to be a part of this project. All of our hardwork became such a priceless moment because it felt nice to see all the people who are also interested or even inspired when they came to the Happiness Station to see our pieces.

Each member of our team deserve all the happiness to put all of their efforts in this project.

PERSPECTIVE

PERSPECTIVE

It is indeed a quite challenging thing to draw perspective without a ruler. This is actually my first time using charcoal to draw. I started very late on this project because I just arrived Taiwan and just came out of the quarantine. I got only 3 days left before submission. It is hectic but I am proud that it turns out well. I surely give my best in those 3 days.

COLLAGE

The details of a collage artwork is important. I tried to focus on using the materials very wisely and yet stil creatively. The colors are the most challenging part for me because I need to find the right color in the materials.
