It has never been easier to make a difference in the lives of children, families, and adults in our community who are in need. These individuals suffer from the lasting effects of abuse, neglect, family instability, homelessness, and other traumas.
You can help by attending our fundraiser, “Elvis and Buddy: Rock & Roll Pioneers” happening at The Egg, November 21, 2026, at 7 p.m.
Elvis and Buddy: Rock & Roll Pioneers features Buffalo native Nathan Pittorf as Buddy Holly. Performing the memorable songs that rocketed Holly to fame before his untimely death at the age of 21, Nathan brings a decade of stage experience to his high-energy tribute to Holly.
Dan Fontaine — New England’s premier Elvis tribute artist — will follow with his award-winning tribute to the King, performing some of Elvis’s most popular hits from the ‘60s and ‘70s. With a vocal range that covers three octaves, Dan is recognized as one of the best vocalists in the world of Elvis entertainers. Backed by The Memphis Sun Mafia — gifted musicians who faithfully recreate the King’s extensive catalog of hits — Dan’s show will entertain and delight audiences young and old.
Albany native and special guest Luke Barnhart will open the show with some of the early songs that helped Elvis launch the Rock & Roll revolution.
Buddy Holly once said, “Without Elvis, none of us would have made it.”
Elvis and Buddy will not only entertain you, but will also remind you why these two groundbreaking artists were inaugural members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
All proceeds from this event directly benefit the programs and services provided by the agency, serving 10 regions, 37 counties and 54 school districts across New York state.

St. Catherine’s Center for Children officially opened a new office in Hudson on Tuesday, marking an expansion of the organization’s human services programs in Columbia County.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, held in partnership with the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce at 886 Columbia St., drew local elected officials, agency leaders and community partners.
“We are thrilled to have a new base of operations to offer our services to Columbia County residents,” Executive Director Kevin Doherty said in a statement. “Our agency has worked with foster families and kinship families within the county for several years. This new office in Hudson will allow better access to services for those families while enabling us to expand the number of programs we can offer to those in need in the region.”
St. Catherine’s already operates homeless and housing services in Columbia County and will now expand its kinship caregiving and permanency resource center programs through the Hudson office.
Mark Quail, Associate Executive Director for Permanency and Family Support, said the expanded services will include case management, counseling, peer support groups, respite care, parenting education and family engagement activities for adoptive parents, guardians and kinship caregivers.
State Sen. Michelle Hinchey said the expansion will help improve access to care for local families.
“Every child and family deserves stability and the chance to thrive,” Hinchey said. “We’re glad that state funding is helping St. Catherine’s expand their services in Columbia County and establish a welcoming home base in Hudson so that more families can access the care they deserve.”
Assemblymember Didi Barrett called the new office “a welcome addition to our community,” noting that the agency offers resources including caregiver support, therapy, transportation assistance, and hearing and vision screenings.
Hudson Mayor Joseph Ferris said the services would benefit residents throughout the county.
“The range of services they provide will be a boon for a wide swath of people who not only live in Hudson, but across Columbia County,” Ferris said.

The front porch got a fresh coat of paint and brand new patio furniture, while the lawn was refreshed with an array of colorful flowers!
We cannot thank Pursuit Lending enough for beautifying the front entance of the house – just in time for the summer season!
A huge thank you to AngioDynamics and National Grid for volunteering with us this 518 Day, a community event hosted by United Way of the Greater Capital District!
Volunteers spent the day cutting back bushes, weeding, and planting vibrant flowers around our Marillac Family Shelter and the surrounding areas of our R & E May School.
