ABOUTSCCCI CAREERWOMEN’SGROUP (CWG)

Founded in Year 1994, the SCCCI Career Women’s Group (CWG) is a business interest group under the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCCI). The SCCCI CWG was set up with the aim of attracting more career women to participate in the SCCCI activities, expand their network and to promote the holistic development of career women.

To-date, CWG has more than 900 members in its community. The SCCCI CWG is Singapore’s de facto community of women across professions, key businesses and entrepreneurs, and has been a key force in influencing the community to promote greater thought leadership and support for women across their respective fields since July 1994.

Together with our experienced Advisors, Ms Claire Chiang, Cofounder of Banyan Tree Holdings and Ms Quek Soo Boon, Managing Director of iGlobe Partners, the SCCCI CWG is currently led by Chairperson Prof Hwang Yee Cheau, Chief Executive Officer of TP Dental Surgeons.

The largest flagship event of the year for CWG is our annual International Women’s Day (IWD) Conference, a high-profile event attended by senior government officials, diplomats, SCCCI Council members and members, business leaders and representatives from the cultural and education fields. Through the IWD event, the SCCCI CWG also hopes to unite career women from diverse groups by showcasing prominent international female leaders who often talk about their path less travelled.
