Greenville man buys RoadDogJobs RoadDogJobs, a specialty job board for traveling construction workers and companies, was recently acquired by Herb Dew IV of Greenville, according to a news release. RoadDogJobs (www. roaddogjobs.com) is an online resource for highly skilled construction workers, including welders, electricians, crane operators and a wide assortment of other trades. Cherry Lane Art now open Erika DeRoberts announced the launch of her new fine art business, Cherry Lane Art, in Fountain Inn. DeRoberts said she left her 20-year corporate career in real estate in 2020 to pursue the creative field full time. Cherry Lane Art launched with a mosaic collection composed of hand cut paper rectangles and squares. In addition to her work with mosaics, DeRoberts is a painter, providing live-event painting, designs fabric and patterns.

Countybank donates to habitat The Countybank Foundation donated $20,000 to Greenwood Area Habitat for Humanity. This donation completes a five-year plan to donate a total of $100,000, the foundation said. The annual donation has supported local home builds and the Greenwood Area Habitat’s Uptown Greenwood ReStore.

New director named for Greenville Tech’s culinary and hospitality center

Chef Bill Twaler has been named director at Greenville Technical College’s Truist Culinary and Hospitality Innovation Center.

Twaler has been part of the center’s team for the past year and has played a key role in developing, promoting and delivering the Quick Jobs programs, giving graduates entry-level skills for the culinary field in a matter of weeks, according to a news release.

The center aims to match the employment needs of downtown Greenville’s restaurants and hotels for entry-level employees with the need of West Greenville residents for education that prepares them for employment opportunities and success. In addition, the course roster includes continuing education for culinary and hospitality professionals, personal interest classes and team building opportunities.

An experienced restaurant chef and owner, Twaler completed his Master of Science in Education in curriculum and instruction at the University of Kansas and graduated summa cum laude from Johnson and Wales University.

Twaler was recently named a 2021 South Carolina Hospitality Educator award winner and a 2021 Upstate Hospitality Educator award winner by the S.C. Restaurant and Lodging Association. He previously received the State Hospitality Educator award in 2016. Certified as an executive chef with the American Culinary Federation since 2011, Twaler was named 2016 National Educator of Excellence by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. He served as a chef for a James Beard House dinner in 2019 and coached the winning team in the South Central Region for a 2018 Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Jeune Commis Competition. He served as a safari chef in Zimbabwe in 1998 and was an apprentice with Culinary Team USA at the Culinary Olympics in 1996.

Premier Foundation rebrands The non-profit Premier Foundation announced it has re-branded and will now be known as Premier Arts Collective. The new mission focuses on creating and implementing experiential programs that offer healing and therapy through the arts and music to serve the underprivileged and those affected by trauma and abuse. Prisma health appoints chief clinical officer

Dr. Jonathan Gleason joined the Prisma Health leadership team in January as executive vice president and chief clinical officer. He will have enterprise leadership responsibilities for clinical quality, patient safety, clinical integration and optimization, the Prisma Health Medical Group and academics, according to an announcement from the health system. Gleason served most recently with Jefferson Health and Thomas Jefferson University, where he was executive vice president and chief clinical officer, endowed James D. and Mary Jo Danella Chief Quality Officer and chair of the board of the JeffCare Network, according to the news release.

Gleason served as principle for the co-development and commercialization of the EverSafeOS safety system with Aramark. He serves on the editorial board for the American Journal of Healthcare Quality, and he is involved in advocacy for people with disabilities through Special Olympics.

“It is a thrill to be joining the Prisma Health team to serve our mission of inspiring people to live their healthiest lives,” Gleason said in the release. “I look forward to partnering with everyone at Prisma Health to build on the outstanding clinical care, research and teaching that this organization has provided for so many years.”

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia, the release said.
