espite a fire that destroyed its iconic cupola and left Bull Street without its defining view, the Babcock Building will get a planned rebirth, says the developer behind its $40 million renovation. Hugh Shytle, president of Richmond, Va.-
based Clachan Properties, said in a statement that the developer is formulating a plan to move forward after the Sept. 12 fire. “It will take time to know the extent of the damage, but we have a great project team skilled in historic preservation to help us make an assessment,” Shytle said. “Our assumption at this time is that we will be able to go forward because of the rapid response
