Barefoot conferences are always exciting opportunities for each of us to learn from our speakers, from our workshop presenters and from one another.

BEING NICE IS NOT ENOUGH

Myles Downey Thought-leader, author and entrepreneur Myles Downey presents a thought-process that challenges how we understand genius and offers a new mindset for success in the 21st Century.

Q. What or who has inspired you most this year?

Working with the New Zealand Rugby Elite Coaches to develop their coaching skills. Great people and a total commitment to learning.

Q. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

It’s a kind of counter – cultural tradition; we eat what we like to eat, which does not include turkey.

Although my step-daughter Vic always insists on having bread sauce!

Jenny Rogers Most coaches find it easy and comfortable to be supportive, but many find challenge much harder. Author and executive coach Jenny Rogers will explore ten situations where challenge could be essential, along with how-todo-it demos.

Q. What or who has inspired you most this year?

The courageous way clients are facing the Referendum result: gritting their teeth and just getting on with it, preparing for the worst while hoping for the best.

Q. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

Walking the Regent’s Canal on Boxing Day and counting the man-sweaters, guessing that this is the only day on which most of them will ever be worn.

NEUROSCIENCE FOR COACHES

Jez Cartwright Jez Cartwright shares what you need to do to build a profitable and successful business for yourself, plus how to stop doing the things that make it easy for the competition to win business from right under your nose.

Q: What or who has inspired you most this year?

Hands down it would be taking myself off to California to undertake the Hoffman Process - the best course anyone could ever take themselves on.

Q: What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

Getting out of the UK and having a holiday as it is the one time of the year most of my clients switch off too!

Amy Brann Amy Brann is an author and goto authority on the application of neuroscience in the field of organisational success. In this workshop, Amy will share insights into applying neuroscience to your coaching work.

Q. What or who has inspired you most this year?

A friend’s mum – she suffered with a rare spinal condition for over 2 years with risky surgery in January. Her approach to life and spirit throughout has been admirable. I hope I can be half as inspiring as she has been during her life.

Q. What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

Making a gingerbread house with my daughter. I started making them with my mum when I was around 12, and have loved passing on the tradition to others we spend Christmas with.

Closing Keynote: Theatre

JACKIE DANIEL Jackie Daniel joined University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust when it was facing several challenges related to quality standards and patient care. Since Jackie joined the Trust she has used coaching to help create an environment where staff could flourish and better serve both their patients and each other.

Jackie will present a case study of her use of coaching within an NHS Foundation Trust and share several practical tools and ideas for coaching for improvement.

Q: What or who has inspired you most this year?

The grit and determination shown by team GB at this year’s Olympic Games. I am so impressed by the day in day out dedication by individuals and teams - awesome!

Q: What is your favourite Christmas tradition?

I love the Christmas Eve carol service time spent with family and friends. The atmosphere is wonderful - a candle lit space filled with scented spice - a chance to cherish what you have and reflect on what is important.
