• We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Cash, check, or money order can be used when registering in person.

• Additional fees may be added for non-residents for youth, adult and 55+ programs.

• Refunds (minus processing fee) will be issued for any cancellation or change made by an individual. For youth and adult programs, the processing fee is $15.

• Those who do not attend the program or do not cancel at least 7 days prior to the start of a program are subject to no refund.

• Full refunds will be issued if Community Services cancels a program.

• Refunds are processed through our Finance Department and mailed to recipients in the form of a check. Please allow up to two weeks to process refund.

The mission of the 55+ Programs is to give all seniors an opportunity to maintain dignity, enrich their quality of living, and actively promote participation in all aspects of community life.

Ashton Gardens Pasta Lunch

All levels and balance abilities are welcome to this 3-week workshop hosted by the balance experts from the Maine Strong Balance Center. Participants will learn about the anatomy and physiology of their balance systems, how they change with age, and exercises focused on improving the function of the major balance systems in the body. Instructor: Jason Adour from Maine Strong Balance Center.

Bring your own paints and brushes or purchase a beginner watercolor and brush set for $15. Gail will provide all other supplies.

Coffee with a Cop Coffee with a Cop is on a mission to improve trust, break down barriers, and build relationships, one cup of coffee at a time. This provides an opportunity for community members and Scarborough Police officers to come together and discuss issues, ask questions, and learn more about each other.

Fryeburg Fair The Fryeburg Fair has grown to become the state’s largest agricultural fair, featuring livestock shows, harness racing, horse pulling, antique farm equipment displays and demonstrations, horticultural and culinary contests, a petting zoo, live musical acts, amusement rides, food stands, and more!

Cumberland County Fair This fair offers years of tradition with various types of food, crafts, and entertainment along with horse racing, exhibition halls, and countless livestock. We are going on Senior Day so if you are 65 and older, admission is only $5!

Youth Programs Registration begins on August 21st ACTIVE Mini Kicks

Tennis in the Parks

A fall soccer program but for the little ones! During this program, participants will learn the basic skills of soccer by playing fun games and giving kids the opportunity to interact and socialize. Parent involvement is highly encouraged. Instructor: SCS Staff.

This tennis program is perfect for first-time or beginner tennis players. Led by approved USTA tennis coaches, this program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play! Registration for the 2023 Fall soccer season opened in April and had a deadline of July 7.

Miss the deadline? Add your child’s name to our waitlist! Once we assess headcounts and coaching needs, we will enroll children from the waitlist and follow up for payment.

Fall Cross Country This program involves learning the proper technique used in running through different terrain such as woods, fields, and walking paths. Practices are held Mondays and Thursdays. Participants who are interested in competing can attend the optional cross-country meets on Wednesday afternoons beginning at the end of September (transportation not provided) at various locations.

Clean up after your pets and help keep the watershed healthy for humans, fish and wildlife.

Besides being unpleasant to the eyes and nose, pet waste is an environmental pollutant that can cause serious harm to Maine’s waterways. A quick rain is all it takes to transfer dog droppings from the ground into our streams, rivers, lakes, and ocean.

Pet waste carries bacteria, viruses and parasites that threaten the health of humans and wildlife. By scooping the poop you are removing harmful nutrients and bacteria from local waterways keeping our citizens healthy and our yards and shoes clean.

• Make use of the provided poop bag dispensers at all of our beaches and parks or bring your own. Take multiple bags on walks, just in case.

• Tie the bags shut and dispose in a trash receptacle. Do not drop bags to the side of the trash receptacle, into the trees, or off to the side of a trail.

• Never throw pet poop in a compost pile.

• Educate your children on the importance of picking up after your pets.

What to Bring to Your Passport Appointment YOURSELF: Anyone applying for a passport, including newborn babies, must be present for the passport acceptance.

PROOF OF U.S. CITIZENSHIP: Certified U.S. birth certificate OR previous U.S. Passport.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION: Maine driver’s license or Maine ID (If you only have an out-of-state driver’s license, you must bring additional photo ID).

PASSPORT PHOTOS: This service is provided by area businesses. We do not provide this service.

Planning international travel? For your convenience, Scarborough Community Services accepts passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State.

PERSONAL CHECK FOR PAYMENT: Must bring at least one check or money order for payment of each application. The acceptance fee ($35), which is paid separately, may be paid by check or cash.

MINORS AGE 15 & UNDER: It is REQUIRED that minors apply in person with both parents listed on their birth certificates. If both parents cannot be present, additional documentation must be completed or presented.

ADULTS AGE 16 & 17: It is recommended that one parent be present at the appointment to show parental awareness. This can also be done by writing the check for the passport or putting a parent down as the emergency contact on the form.

We recommend completing the passport application prior to coming to our office for acceptance.

Community Services has made booking a field or facility simpler by allowing online reservation requests! Using your organization’s username and password, you are able to log onto our online reservation system on our website and access the following features:

Our wireless lighting system allows users within the community to schedule field lights. The Clifford Mitchell Sports Complex (High School Complex) light system is set up in seven zones as follows:
