“You want an individual solution – a bathroom that is not simply off the shelf, but a service from one provider? Then you are at the right place with Goldmann,” says interior designer Anna Woithe. One particular trademark of Goldmann Badmanufaktur is its seamless bathrooms with some clear advantages: they are more harmonic and seem much tidier than those with many small tiles and gaps. The rooms also appear larger, often. “The surfaces are also easier to maintain, because there are fewer grout-filled gaps that have to be renewed regularly and can get mouldy,” says Woithe. There are a few different options for this: palette knife techniques, natural and porcelain stoneware, or indeed wallpapers. “We use innovative 20 | Issue 88 | December 2021
materials that – thanks to impregnation and sealing – can be used in wet areas like the shower,” Woithe says. Palette knife techniques are applied just a few millimetres thin onto existing tiles. That is something that is especially appealing for people who stay living in the premises while the bathroom is being refurbished: the scale of demolition is reduced and that also means less dust, less time and fewer costs. “The surface can be individually designed: for example, through polishing, or adding glimmer and metal powders,” says the bathroom designer. “Some of our products are based on natural components and have a positive effect on the climate of the room.”
Porcelain stoneware slabs are large scale, but only a few millimetres thick, which means a shower can be clad with one slab alone, without any seams. The break- and frost-proof material can even be used in outdoor spaces. Since different motifs can be printed on the slabs, they offer great design freedom, too. Vinyl- and glass-fibre wallpapers, specially made for wet rooms, are similar: they are robust, long-living and can be easily cleaned. “With little effort they have a great effect and can easily be replaced or pasted over any time,” says Anna Woithe. Beyond that, there are many additional bathroom trends that Goldmann Badmanufaktur offers and considers: “Next to gap-free bathrooms, many customers want colourful fittings,” says Anna Woithe. “In many households the classic chrome is no longer fashionable, instead they want colours like matt black, brass and dark metal tones.” www.goldmann-bad.de
