“We don’t sell the clients what they want, but what they need,” says Mark Dammeyer, company officer with statutory authority. Nordpack tailors the packaging exactly to the client’s needs and supports them as consultants from the first idea to the delivery of the finished packaging material. Historically, packaging materials have been totally underrepresented, but have gained increasing popularity in the last years. The globalisation of all industrial branches plays a role that can’t be neglected: goods are shipped internationally, and successful supply chains not only help to save costs, but also reduce the carbon footprint. ibility. “Quick reaction times are important,” says Dammeyer. In the last 30 years, Nordpack has built a successful network so that the company covers the whole spectrum of packaging materials from paper and wood to foam and multi-material packaging solutions. Additionally, the company has three logistic centres in the north, south and west and three subsidiaries that work together under the name Nordpack: Nordpack GmbH, responsible for distribution; the producer of corrugated paper, Deisterwelle; and Kartonfabrik Porstendorf. Nordpack is therefore in the special position that they can produce the materials for their innovative packaging solutions themselves. “Others don’t have this wide range and that is our clear advantage,” enthuses Dammayer. We start where others give up because it is getting too complicated”.

Nordpack, for example, fabricates packaging for bumpers that enclose them perfectly. Using the client’s CAD data, Nordpack additionally calculated which other parts also fit into the box so that all parts nestle together. This allows for an efficient and space-saving packaging, which also influences storage and transport. Efficiently wrapped parts reduce the storage space and subsequently the costs. If, thanks to clever packaging solutions, more car parts fit onto the lorry, this additionally reduces CO2 emissions, since fewer lorries need to drive.
