It was during a holiday when the Hauck family fell in love with Italian espresso machines. Back then, they ran a store for electronics and kitchen equipment, but things were about to change for the better. In the early ‘80s, Wolfgang Hauck brought a small Gaggia portafilter espresso machine home and used it as decoration in his kitchen department. The demand for it was almost instant. Realising the potential, Hauck took the opportunity to focus on his favourite subject, espresso. Profitec was born.
