To travel with your own mobile home is a fantastic feeling. Even better if you can have that feeling every day, is the motto of Kompanja, a young company from Brühl, Germany.
Die eigenen vier Wände auf Reisen bei sich zu haben, ist ein schönes Gefühl. Noch schöner, wenn das kleine Zuhause auch im Alltag dabei ist, finden die Gründer von Kompanja.
“Our company’s name is borrowed from the word companion a term which describes our idea of a van. They are an ideal partner for all kinds of situations, whether it is a romantic holiday or your daily routine,” explains Christoph Kneer, who established Kompanja together with Ulrich Diefenbach in 2016.“For the majority of working people, owning a mobile home that is blocking the driveway for most of the year does not make sense,” adds Diefenbach.

Unsere Vans sind genau das: Ein Fahrzeug, das in allen Lebenssituationen – Urlaub oder Alltag – die perfekte Basis bietet“, erläutert Christoph Kneer, der Kompanja im Jahr 2016 zusammen mit Ulrich Diefenbach gründete. Dieser ergänzt: „Für viele berufstätige Menschen macht es keinen Sinn ein Wohnmobil zu unterhalten, das den Großteil des Jahres in der Einfahrt steht.“
Camper vans suited for everyday life are currently enjoying great popularity. Vans by Kompanja impress with their elaborate design. The vehicles are made to suit all kinds of life situations a seven-seater, for example, becomes a removal van in a flash. However, each step needs to be simple and easy. “If something cannot be converted with two flips of the wrist, the customer will not use it anyway,” says Diefenbach, and adds: “Combining functionality and aesthetics is at the core of Kompanja.” Kneer has moved to live permanently in his van just recently. “You really feel at home in our vans. This is probably owed to the love we put into the design and the choice of materials. And once you feel at home, the van gives you a lot of freedom.”This summer is the perfect opportunity to take a look at Kompanja’s vans yourself. You can find them from 24 August to 3 September 2018 at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf and once again at Kompanja’s in-house-exhibition in Brühl on 22 September 2018. 76 | Issue 65 | August 2018
Campingbusse, also alltagstaugliche Wohnmobile, sind deswegen gerade schwer im Trend. Die Vans von Kompanja punkten vor allem durch ihren Nutzwert: Die Fahrzeuge sind von Haus aus alltagstauglich und können leicht umgebaut werden – aus einem Siebensitzer beispielsweise wird im Handumdrehen ein Umzugswagen. Jeder Schritt muss dabei einfach von der Hand gehen. „Was nicht in zwei Schritten umgebaut ist, nutzt man sowieso nie“, sagt Diefenbach und ergänzt: „Funktionalität und Ästhetik schließen sich keineswegs aus.“ Kneer selbst ist vor einigen Monaten in seinen Van gezogen: „In einem Kompanja fühlt man sich zuhause. Das liegt vor allem an der Liebe fürs Detail bei Design und Materialwahl.
