Only perfection ensures safety In order to fully enjoy skiing, safety has to be of utmost priority, and what makes skiing safe in the first place is the ski binding. TYROLIA, market leader in the Alpine ski binding sector, convinces with quality, expertise and continued development. And it has done for 90 years. Safety, technical perfection and innovation are the attributes TYROLIA has always been associated with and today the Austrian company delivers ski bindings all across the globe. Every third ski binding designed, produced and sold worldwide comes from the factory in Schwechat. “The rapid development in the winter sports sector has put the issue of injuryfree skiing into focus,” says marketing director Robert Stanzl. “The binding is not just a connecting piece between ski and ski boot, but it is also the critical element to ensure safety and the best performance in the snow. TYROLIA’s know-how and the continued research and development guarantee a high-tech product, which is fitted with unique safety attributes.” The ISO-certified ski binding by TYROLIA turned into a high-tech brand, which is 30  |  Issue 59  |  February 2018

particularly important for professional skiing. “Over one million produced sets per year, numerous successes in the Alpine Ski World Cup and in the emerging free skiing segment make TYROLIA market leader in the ski binding sector,” Stanzl adds. The different series by TYROLIA are perfectly adapted to the skier’s needs and include all different areas of skiing. From skiing tours and on- or off-piste skiing as well as the top speed sector, to daily use at, for example, hire companies, and for safe skiing fun for kids: TYROLIA offers the right ski binding for every requirement. “When choosing the ski binding one should certainly get in-depth advice in store,” recommends Stanzl. “The right set-up of the ski binding is crucial for the safe release-retention function. The right fit and how to set it up correctly depends

on criteria such as weight, mounting range, the skier’s skills, but also the area of application.” Stanzl also recommends getting the ski binding serviced regularly as that will expand its lifespan. Thanks to his exciting job Robert Stanzl often travels to wonderful skiing areas all over the world but somehow he is always drawn back to his home territory:“When it comes to skiing I personally not only take the skiing itself into account but also the overall package of slopes, ski lifts, hotels and gastronomy – and that’s where the Austrian skiing regions are the undisputed world champions.”
