Ceramic pool coping stones are made from kaolinite clay, feldspar, and quartz. After being pressed under immense pressure in a mold, the tiles are fired in ovens where the temperature gradually rises to 1200 – 1400° C. The oven then cools rapidly, converting the clay into glass. This process is called sintering. It is this thorough and precise process that results in the exceptional finish, which can only be described as genuine craftsmanship.
