The Showalter Hughes Community Gallery and The Alice and William Jenkins Gallery on the main campus present a changing variety of multidisciplinary visual art exhibitions by regional, national and international artists.

Policies

In order to maintain the quality of our programs, we require a minimum number of enrolled students. Therefore, the following policies are in place for refunds, transfers, and withdrawals:

CLASSES

A transfer, withdrawal, credit, or refund must be requested 7 days prior to the first day of the session by contacting the main office at 407-671-1886 during business hours or email registration@crealde.org. Requests made less than 7 days before the first day of the session are not eligible. Class credits expire after one year. These policies apply regardless of attendance status.

WORKSHOPS

All workshop withdrawal deadlines are at least one week prior to the workshop date. Registration deadlines for visiting artist workshops will vary. If withdrawal is made prior to deadline, student is eligible for a full refund. No refunds or credits will be made after the withdrawal deadline.

Private Classes

For a private, one-on-one learning experience, consider these opportunities to study with a Crealdé professional artist/instructor. Create a schedule and learning curriculum that fits your needs and availability. Topics can range from learning the basics of a particular art medium, exploring a specific new technique, brushing up on an old skill, or developing a portfolio.

Cost: $300 for five hours of private instruction in Crealdé’s professional art studios, including a 30-minute initial phone consultation and three 1.5-hour class sessions. Materials not included.

Learn basic and advanced jewelry fabrication. Practice silversmithing skills and methods of cutting, forging, embossing, and fundamentals of soldering techniques. Receive instructions and tools to make finger rings, earrings, bracelets, and other forms of jewelry. Copper materials are provided for the class. Students wanting to work in silver should bring their own silver supply.

Explore cutting, forging, metal texturing, hammering, sawing and soldering silver. Practice bezel stone setting for cabochon gemstones, polishing techniques and combining sterling silver sheet metal with fine silver wire. Pre-planned projects will focus on making silver rings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. Silver will be provided. The amount of silver material or gemstones is limited to the instructor-planned projects.

Create a one-of-a-kind bracelet. Use copper and brass to learn the fundamental fabrication techniques and determine how to make a variety of bracelets from start to finish with the use of jewelers’ tools. Explore different designs with step-by-step guidance from the instructor, including resources for tools and supplies for developing your own jewelry studio. Stone setting is not included in this program.

Learn to mix pigments to achieve any hue with respect to its value and intensity. Using a split primary palette arrangement of oil paint, exercises will demonstrate the importance of complementary color relationships in mixing. Develop personal imagery, layer these images until they become patterns of shapes and tones, and redefine your compositions. It is easy to join! Individual membership is only $40 per year, or $65 for an entire household! Membership levels at $100 and above earn additional benefits.
