Sierra Bernia School Celebrates Fallas!

Sierra Bernia is a school established in 1973, the oldest in the area. We just started celebrating our 50th anniversary.

The opening of our “birthday” celebrations was the Fallas on March 17th. We made Minecraft-themed sculptures.

Here are our wonderful sculptures!

We set them on fire and got water sprayed all over us to celebrate this feat.

The world’s most visited human body exposition comes to the Thader Mall in Murcia.

Anyone who is interested in The Human Body and its anatomy should definitely go visit!

Their exhibition details the functioning of the human body in an illustrative way that viewers of all ages will understand.

It opens everyday Tuesday-Friday 17:00-21:00 and Saturday-Sunday 11:00-14:00 and 17:00-21:00.

A Spanish school.

Why did you come to this school?

Because I didn’t understand so much Spanish.

Since March 2022, but I have been coming here every summer since 2017 before we moved here.

Easter egg sugar cookies:

Ingredients:

Sugar cookies:

● 100 grams unsalted butter.

● 2,5 dl granulated sugar.

● 1 egg.

● 1 tsp vanilla extract.

● ½ tsp baking powder.

● ¼ tsp salt.

● 4,5 dl all-purpose flour.

Royal icing:

● 7 dl icing sugar.

● 2 ts meringue powder.

● 0,5 dl water.

● ½ ts vanilla extract.

● Gel food coloring.

Steps:

● Make the dough:

In a large mixing bowl, mix cream butter and sugar together using a hand mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, for about 2 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and beat until combined. Turn the mixer to low speed and add baking powder and salt. Add flower and mix until combined. Form the dough into a ball and wrap it tightly in plastic cling wrap. Freeze for 30 minutes.

● Cut out the cookies:

Remove the dough from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough out until it is ¼ inch thick. Use an egg-shaped cookie cutter to cut out egg cookie shapes. Transfer the cookies onto a half sheet baking pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

● Bake:

Bake the cookies at 350 F preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until the edges start turning golden brown. Let the cookies cool for a couple minutes on the baking sheet.

● Make the Royal icing:

In a mixing bowl, combine confectioners sugar with meringue powder. Add water and vanilla extract and beat with a hand mixer on medium high speed until smooth. To color the icing, add gel food coloring. Then you can decorate the cookies the way you want them to look.
