As we approach the close to our summer, I hope you will take time to experience some of the events that our chapter’s board of directors has planned. As you thumb through this issue of the SBLBSHP Newsletter, you will see that over the next few months we will have a lot going on! From continuing education opportunities to brewery tours, the board has worked tirelessly to plan these events for you, our members. It truly has been an honor to work with my board of directors. The amount of time spent planning, attending meetings, and sending emails in order to put on these events is astounding. Remember, this is all done on a volunteer basis! Having said that, when we are able to serve our community (ie. Teach underprivileged communities about chronic diseases) or be directly involved with legislation within our profession, our work can really be rewarding.
