Ben Fountain

Ben Fountain’s most recent book, a novel, Devil Makes Three, was a national bestseller and a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice. His other books are the short story collection Brief Encounters with Che Guevara, the nonfiction account of the 2016 election Beautiful Country Burn Again, and the novel Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, which was adapted for film by three-time Oscar winner Ang Lee. His work has received the National Book Critics’ Circle Award, the PEN/Hemingway Award, the Los Angeles Times Book Award, the Center for Fiction’s First Novel Prize, the PEN/Cerulli Award for Excellence in Sports Writing, and a Whiting Award, and has been a finalist for the National Book Award. He lives in Dallas, Texas, and is a former attorney in private practice.

Marc Levy

When Marc Levy was 18 years old, he joined the Red Cross. After six years, he left Paris for California, to start a company specializing in computer graphics. Nine years later, on returning to France, he co-founded and led an architecture firm.

In January 2000, If Only It Were True, Marc Levy’s debut novel, a story he had written for his son Louis, was published by Éditions Robert Laffont. Shortly before the novel’s release, Steven Spielberg (DreamWorks) acquired the film rights. The adaptation became Just Like Heaven, starring Reese Witherspoon and Mark Ruffalo, and it topped the US cinema box office upon its release in 2005.

Since If Only It Were True Marc Levy has written 25 novels. His novels have sold over 50 million copies and have been translated into 50 languages. His last novel The Symphony of Monsters has been published in France on 17 October 2023.

Marc Levy also writes children’s books, graphic novels, and songs, including one for Johnny Hallyday. The TV and film adaptations of his novels include If Only It Were True, Mes Amis, Mes Amours, and, most recently All Those Things We Never Said, with Jean Reno in the leading role (Canal Plus/StarzPlay).

Marc Levy has several other films and TV projects in development: PS from Paris, The Shadow Thief, A Woman Like Her and Replay, as well as the It Happened at Night series, with the award-winning filmmaker Costa-Gavras.

Marc Levy is the most widely-read living French author in the world.

À 18 ans, Marc Levy s’engage dans la Croix-Rouge. Au bout de six ans, il quitte Paris pour la Californie, où il crée une entreprise spécialisée dans l’infographie. Neuf ans plus tard, de retour en France, il cofonde et dirige un cabinet d’architecture.

En janvier 2000, Si seulement c’était vrai, le premier roman de Marc Levy, une histoire qu’il avait écrite pour son fils Louis, a été publié aux Éditions Robert Laffont.
