Katsuya Brentwood, named “Best New Restaurant” by Travel &
Leisure in 2007, represents the prodigious pairing of the supreme
talents of master sushi chef Katsuya Uechi and world-renowned
designer Philippe Starck. Chef Uechi, whom Angeleno Magazine
named “Chef of the Year” in 2006, unleashes his culinary artistry
with a menu of innovative sushi and robata dishes, served in a sleek, “wooden bento box” setting that is supremely Starck. Combining the service and quality of a fine dining restaurant with the lively energy and casual vibe of a neighborhood hotspot, Katsuya Brentwood has quickly become the place for Angelenos and visitors alike. As Food & Wine described, it is truly “one of the most exciting restaurants to open in Los Angeles in years.” SBE’s second Katsuya outpost, Katsuya Hollywood, opened in Fall 2007 while the third Katsuya, located in Glendale, opened its doors in May 2008. And, soon to follow will be Katsuya Downtown, opening in the LA Live complex in the Fall of 2008.
