Artwork by Flore
Flore Flore’s paintings grow intuitively out of the passing thoughts, feelings, and experiences competing for attention inside and outside his head. Passages of handwritten text pile up scrawled within rectangular boxes that bring to mind post-its or stickers. They express names, advertising slogans, personal reminders, television shows, lyrics. Sometimes a word or phrase is written and then crossed out. Or the words may be partially hidden behind another bit of text, in the way that thoughts sometimes crowd each other out. Quickly scrawled cartoon eyes expressing surprise, fear or anger peer out in all directions. Flore refers to these as “the monsters inside my mind.” Flore’s recent work “Lavish” will be on exhibit, along with a time lapse video of him actively creating his interpretation of street art into paintings, a style he has dubbed Urban Cubism. Lavish-Exhibit and time lapse by Flore on the SLS South Beach façade, pool side December 2nd - December 9th | 6pm - 12am
Artwork by PunkMeTender
PunkMeTender The mysterious artist Punk Me Tender is known for his very graphic, raw form of art, inspired by women, fashion, and style. The new creation of Multicolor and the exhibit which will be displayed on the front entrance of SLS South Beach is inspired by colorful butterflies. The inspiration of butterflies is the overall representation of humanity in general as a unique species. He conceptualizes his three-dimensional works and modernizes perception rooted in culture by making it relevant for more people, hoping to urge all to simply open their minds and reject old stereotypes.
