THE CEO CLUB SUCCESS STORY

The Genesis

In order to nurture and groom young leaders and fast track their career development, our Leadership at LTTS conceptualized the ‘CEO Club’, which gives all participants an equal opportunity to get early exposure to the top Echelons of the organization and a chance to work with our CEO Dr. Panda and his team! The CEO Club has today become one of LTTS’ most successful long -term initiatives for grooming talented young professionals into leaders of tomorrow.

The idea behind the CEO Club is simple and elegant: the best approach to gain wisdom is to learn from the experience of people who have had more exposure and more experience. This precisely is the basis of mentor-mentee relationship. And in a corporate setup who can be a better mentor than the CEO of the company itself? This was the core thought-process of setting up the CEO club in 2017 – to provide an opportunity without discrimination to each and every employee of LTTS to be mentored by none other than our CEO, Dr. Keshab Panda himself.

The Framework

The CEO club framework is designed to make it an equal opportunity initiative without preference or precedence offered to hierarchy, role, or function. It involves a well calibrated screening criteria that involves testing, elimination and selection of the candidates on various parameters – thought process & vision, communication & articulation, analytical thinking, planning & action potential, innovation ability, and, psychometric evaluation.

The entire process is kept transparent and it is an independent agency Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) who enlists the jury for evaluation of the candidates. This year, the event was even more special as the panel comprised not just industry experts from PwC but the CXO team from LTTS, and academia stalwarts from IIM-A, IIT-M and IISc. These panellists along with PwC evaluated the candidates through a rigorous five-stage selection process based on the threshold competencies required for future leaders. The process has a credible and complex construct whereby it tests the candidates’ ability for 247 different traits that determine the leadership potential and functional attributes.

The selected candidates gain access to the esteemed ‘CEO Club’ for one year where they work under Dr. Panda’s mentorship and get an opportunity to attend a company sponsored management program at an international business school. Upon their return, based on their psychometric evaluation results these candidates are fast-tracked into leadership roles aligned to their functional strengths and traits. The Journey

Since its inception in 2017, over 1500 candidates have applied to the program and 17 have made to the CEO club. The efficacy of the program can be judged from the fact that the youngest member of the club was just 2 years into the LTTS system and now heads a complete business portfolio and all the other members of the club too have made rapid strides in their leadership journey. So, the question is, do you see yourself as the next CEO club member? And the Winners Are..
