Changing Lives through Hands-on Training
In June, Saving Sight hosted a DMEK Wet Lab at Bausch & Lomb in St. Louis. Partner physicians who attended the wet lab received comprehensive lectures, instruction and training from industry leaders and Saving Sight clinical staff on new and innovative services and procedures. Dr. Mark Greiner with University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine demonstrated a DMEK procedure in the teaching OR.
After the demonstration, participants were able to practice the new techniques that were presented with one-on-one guidance. Saving Sight places high value in hosting Wet Labs as a resource for our surgeon partners as it provides them with information and practical experience with new techniques in corneal transplantation and eye banking.
