In this exhibition, Kim gathers works representative of each period in one place and arranges them in a way that showcases a broad spectrum at a glance. He has installed his works in a timeline format which provides an opportunity to think about the continuity of his work as it has changed and evolved over time. It shows development and flow in his work with his primary medium, steel powder that was created as a byproduct of carving steel.

Sulki & Min Sulki & Min is a collaboration between the Seoulbased graphic designers Sulki Choi and Min Choi.

They also broadcast many artists’ publications through their own Specter Press. In 2006, they held their first exhibition at the Gallery Factory in Seoul, for which they received the Art Award of the Year from the Korea Arts Council. They had their second exhibition in 2008 at The Kimjinhye Gallery in Seoul.

Sulki & Min were appointed as graphic designers of the BMW Guggenheim Lab, a collaborative project initiated by the Guggenheim Foundation and BMW. Both Sulki Choi and Min Choi teach graphic design and typography, at The Kaywon School of Art & Design and The University of Seoul, respectively.

The formative experiment wasn’t meant to break or expand the genre. If I have something I’d like to do and somewhere I’d like to go, whether someone already has been there or not doesn’t really matter much to me. The important thing is using my imagination to get to that place in a way that is free and without fear.

어떤 모습일까. 1960년대 뉴욕으로 모여들었던 수많은 작가들은 가죽 끈을 두르거나, 손수

실로 꿰맨 포트폴리오에 뜨거운 열정을 담았다. 국내에서는 1990년대 생겨난 공모전들을 통해 슬라이드 형식의 포트폴리오가 소개되기도 했다. 이후, 작품을 쉽게 열람할 수 있는 바인더 형식의 포트폴리오와 CD 등이 일반화 되었고, 현재는 현대미술의 독창성만큼이나 다양한 형식의 포트폴리오들이 등장하고 있다. 사비나미술관의 <포트폴리오 아카이브 라운지>는 현재 국내 레지던시에 입주하고 있는 국내외 작가들의 미공개 포트폴리오를 직접 열람할 수 있는 특별한 공간이다. 경기창작센터, 국립현대미술관 고양창작스튜디오, 국립현대미술관 창동창작스튜디오, 금천예술공장, 서울시립미술관 난지창작스튜디오, 인천아트플랫폼 등에 입주하고 있는 총

46명의 60편의 포트폴리오가 프린트 형식과 디지털 형식의 두 섹션으로 나뉘어 전시된다.

In the 1960s, numerous artists emerged from within New York City. Some artists encased their portfolios in leather while other artists hand-crafted sewn bindings.

Those artists’ were passionate about their portfolios. In Korea, the concept of slide-type portfolios were introduced by the (then) newly emergent 90’s art competitions. Ever since that point, binder-type portfolios and CD's became common. Now even more varied kinds of innovative and creative portfolios are being produced.

Savina Art Museum’s Portfolio Archive Lounge is a special place that offers a unique viewing of the portfolios of previously unrevealed artists currently participating in the Residency Program in Korea. The Studio of Residency Program includes The Gyeonggi Creation Center, The National Museum of Contemporary Art, The Goyang National Art Studio, The Changdong Art Studio, The Seoul Art Space -Geumcheon, The SeMA Nanji Residency, and The Incheon Art Platform. A total of 46 artists in residency will exhibit 60 portfolios. They will be presented in two formats: digital and print.
