IMPACT ON GRASSROOT COMMUNITIES*

World leaders are discussing actions to tackle climate change at the Conference Of Parties (COP) summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt and this is the 27th meeting. Attending parties are countries that signed up to the World's Climate Agreement in the year 1992.

COP27 is being held in order to find solutions to climate change. Humans are the soul drivers of climate change through greenhouse gas emissions. Research shows that global temperatures have risen by 1.1°C and are heading towards 1.5°C.

It was noted that human rights are affected by climate change as people end up migrating to other places suitable for farming and with good climate conditions, hence leading to overpopulation and disease. The climate change meeting ensures market-based mechanisms to have an effective means of protecting human rights and effective compliances in order to address mechanisms that include mandatory environmental

COP27 has a huge impact on grassroot communities. To commence with, the Conference considers human rights in their nationally portrayed contributions.
