Climate change is caused by both man and natural factors, however the major cause among these two factors is still a debate. In light of the available literature
based on the study various schools of thought are debating on the causes of climate change which has taken center stage in development lexicon hence cementing the blame to man as the globe is already 1 degree warmer than it was before the industrial revolution.
In view of that, there are numerous natural factors that cause climate change such as movement of crustal plates, imbalance of radiation, and volcanic eruptions amongst other factors. Movement of crustal plates have influenced the earth’s temperature for a million of years as they triggered volcanic eruptions that amounts of carbon dioxide which is a major contributor of greenhouse gases hence raising global temperatures. Movement of crustal plates over each other carry landmasses which are carried along to different positions and latitudes and these chang-
-es affect the global circulation patterns of air and ocean water and the climate of the continents this leads to increase in global temperatures, the climate change as their activities increased amount Volcanic eruptions are episodic and they pump carbon dioxide which is responsible for warming up the earth and increase temperatures by trapping long radiation, however this effect is outweighed by volcanic debris which form aerosols that cools down the earth hence these effects of volcanic eruptions on climate change are of short term.
