Make it With Love Several years ago, I taught our daughter, Annie, to make lasagna. It was some wonderful father-daughter time spent together in her kitchen. I made one pan as an example to show and guide her, while she made a pan of her own. Annie was concerned with the amount of time it was taking. I expressed the importance of taking the time to do it right. No shortcuts; don’t rush it. “Always make your lasagna with love, and people will love your lasagna,” I told her. We baked, then ate her lasagna for dinner. The meal was delicious; I was proud of her and told her so. The following day, we took my pan of unbaked lasagna and baking directions to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, Minnesota, to give it to the priests. Father Jonathan answered the door, thanking us for the gift. He seemed very appreciative, and that made us feel pretty darn good. Several weeks later, I was back at home in Silver Bay. It was nearing the end of the year, and I was behind schedule on our home remodeling project. I’d been working on our master bedroom, framing the closets. (Just the Other Day cont’d on pg 5)
