SERHIY SAVCHENKO Born 1972 in Lviv, Ukraine.

In 1993 graduated from the Lviv College of Decorative and Applied Arts named by I. Trush. In 1998 graduated from the Lviv Academy of Arts. Works in the field of painting, drawing, photography, video, animation, street sculpture, object. Founder of independent video production studio Coproduction (coproduction.co). Curator of residencies program in Museum of Ideas in Lviv, Ukraine. Participates in international residencies, workshops and art events in Ukraine and worldwide.

Lives and works in Lviv, Ukraine.

“The art is an instrument of coopertion of human and time. Timeis identical to art because they botheist gratefully to the human`s imagination. My time is limited while my art has no borders.

All my work is a marker of existence between two illusions: art and time.”

“The art of Savchenko is if anything an art of contrasts. Light and darkness, the figurative and the abstract and the perceived reality and the world of fantasy are only a few of the contrasts that are brought into a harmonious co-existence in as well the portraits as the paintings of landscapes. The means used to obtain this is dynamic compositions performed in strong colours brushed on he canvas in thick layers combined with few figurativeand often elements of transparency…”
