Who did you want to be while growing up? I grew up in a family of teachers. My dad is a retired high school teacher, my mum is still a teacher in the primary level - retiring this year. I grew up being nurtured to be a teacher but I always told myself I would love to do it on a higher level, the reason I did a Bachelors of Education/Arts, a Masters in Science Entrepreneurship, a PHD in BA and here I am now lecturing at university. What are your three biggest achievements? Obtaining my PHD in Business Administration at a young age Being a campus Director Owning and running a management training consultancy firm Winning the 2016 award of the ‘Most Preferred Training Institution in Mombasa’ organized by Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) What other CEOs do you look up to? I look up to James Mworia ( the managing director and
executive officer of Centum tments), a young and very gic gentleman who rose from n to CEO.
are Your views on change? ge is inevitable and I am very open to it, more so since we live in a very dynamic world. Embracing positive change and being positive about it leads to fruitfulness.
Explain the rationale behind your most recent career move? New challenges excite me and in this case managing a campus at a young age an on my own was a hefty challenge worth a shot when it came.
Any political Aspirations and why? No political aspirations from me because I think politics is like gambling and it sometimes destabilizes you. If anything then I would love an ambassadorial position. What is your advice to the current youth of Mombasa? Anybody can be what they want to be through faith, work, prayer and having a vision. Also, If you set yourself to do something, you can do it. Shortcuts do not exist, quality education is key when you have the chance and lastly, with all this peer pressure and drugs, to identify yourself and knowing your purpose is im portant.
What do you hope to achieve in the next 2 years? To grow my career in lecturing and have as many pub cations as possible, hopefully renewing my contract a Director of JKUAT Mombasa Campus.
