A career in real estate is a natural segue for Greg, who has spent two decades working in marketing, sales, interior design and property development. His clients benefit from his deep knowledge and passion for the property design and development process, as well as his savvy negotiation skills, client-service expertise and nuanced understanding of local area and building codes. Greg earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Texas. For nearly a decade, Greg held a variety of senior roles at notable corporations. He started with a management consulting position at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in San Francisco. He later moved to advertising sales roles at premier Los Angeles radio stations, and, after moving to Manhattan, Viacom MTV Networks and the Discovery Channel. In 2009, he and his partner moved to Sag Harbor to follow their shared passion for interior design and property development, co-founding their own full-service development company. They started by providing 3D rendering and virtual renovation marketing services, but after clients began asking how to realize these virtual renovations, the pair transitioned to owner’s representation, representing absentee homeowners during all phases of construction. They currently design and develop Hamptons investment properties for resale. “I’m grateful to be following my passions and to be doing it in such a special and inspiring place. I enjoy sharing my expertise and helping my clients by giving them the tools and strategies they need to buy and sell here in the Hamptons,” Greg says. For sellers with a house that requires staging, he brings a designer’s eye to the process, reworking the interior in ways that will highlight its best qualities. For buyers who may overlook a hidden gem, he brings a solid understanding of local area and building codes, enabling them to imagine, for example, the potential for a future renovation or expansion. When not working, Greg and his partner savor every moment with their two rescue dogs, Olive and Ivy. They also love cooking, entertaining and clean eating, relying on local farm stands for inspiration when planning leisurely meals for their large family and many hungry friends.

the market has turned 2019 was an important year for Saunders & Associates. We continued to focus on our core mandates of empowering our agents, expanding our business and protecting the short and long term interests of our firm. Saunders & Associates played an integral role in the creation of the new Hamptons real estate listing system and the launch of HamptonsRE.com, accomplishments that will enable us to control our data and our future. We were hired by Farrell Building, a prolific Hamptons builder, to exclusively represent their listings. We were involved in a $1.5M summer rental, the highest rental price paid in the history of the Hamptons. We received 12 awards for our website design, social media marketing and Happening in the Hamptons video series. Noteworthy among them was the 2019 Best Real Estate Website Award For America from International Property Awards. Staying focused worked well for us. While the Hamptons brokerage business had a tough year, we continued to capture market share. Hamptons transactional dollar volume declined 21% through the end of the third quarter over 2018 levels and preliminary year end numbers indicate that total 2019 industry sales declined over 2018 as well. At the firm, we generated $1.65 billion in sales and rentals, an increase of 10% over 2018 activity. We have observed a strong relationship over the years between the performance of the stock market and that of Hamptons real estate sales. That relationship uncoupled in 2017. As the stock market continued to rise, Hamptons sales did not participate in the upside move. While sales have been respectable, they have continued to decline year over year since 2017. Commencing in late third quarter 2019 however, traditionally the start of the “off-season�, sales at our firm started to rise dramatically. This enthusiasm among buyers to transact has continued through the end of 2019. Inventory levels in many segments of our market are declining and it is clear that a turning point in sales activity has occurred. The strength of this move in the market is significant and suggests that it will continue into 2020. We have been able to grow our business in a down market because of the innovative ideas that we mobilize on behalf of our customers and clients. The effectiveness of such advocacy is enhanced in a strong market, precisely what we believe we will encounter in 2020. ascent of a real estate leader As a developer since 1996, Andrew Saunders has conceptualized, masterfully built, financed, and sold many “south of the highway” estates in the Hamptons. He is known for his ability to match the right concept in the right location at the right time with the right buyer. Saunders realized that his skills as a developer were synergistic with many of the qualities of a successful luxury real estate agent. He joined Sotheby’s International Realty in 2001 and quickly rose to become one of their top brokers nationwide, and in 2007 was ranked #43 of all brokers in the United States by The Wall Street Journal. After several successful years from this vantage point, Andrew observed a clear but unmet need for a Hamptons-focused real estate brokerage firm with the smartest administrative, marketing and technology professionals, all dedicated to “a higher form of realty.” A place where agents are energized and fully supported. In 2008 this idea, this company, would come to be called Saunders & Associates. Saunders purchased the company’s first office building in Bridgehampton in January 2008, started renovating, and opened Saunders & Associates in October, a few weeks after Lehman Brothers collapsed and the stock market crashed. Since that time, the company has evolved into the most effective real estate brokerage in the Hamptons and now owns five real estate offices and an affiliated title business.

Large TV screens in each of our offices display property photography and video in large formats, and our visual content is used in online advertising campaigns and across all of Saunders’ highly active social media platforms, which are updated daily.


in-house intelligence Another way we empower our agents to create and enable deals is by providing analysis services that review sales histories, permit requirements and zoning regulations. Through New York Title Abstract Services, our affiliated title business, we run title on each Saunders exclusive listing at the time that we are engaged by the client. This provides an important level of clarity about the property from the outset and is impactful in expediently moving an accepted offer to contract signing. We understand that clarity is paramount for a smooth transaction. Theresa Quigley, Esq. is our Executive Managing Director and General Counsel. She has been a practicing attorney for over 30 years in NYC and the Hamptons. Theresa directly assists our agents with zoning analysis, structuring transactions and negotiating deals. She interfaces with local government officials, surveyors, title companies, environmental engineers, house inspectors and lenders in an effort to move our transactions forward. Theresa was Deputy Supervisor for East Hampton Town from 2010 through 2013 and worked for 15 years at the firm Farrell Fritz resolving real estate, tax, estate planning, corporate and environmental issues.
