Should' ve fallen

asleep by now.

the coffee

the sickness

the ache

I held

too close perhaps,

but the distance is still

the ugly monster

keeping me awake,

kept me away

from you

from myself

from we...

Or is it

to be continued?

Was it ever?

to know

to wonder

to grasp

all that's never been,

or never was meant

to be

to love

to want

to start over

or simply just

move on

move forward

move away.

We may never know

but I loved what we started

and what may keep me awake,

for many nights to come,
