Reality, it's said by some,
is highly overrated
The sweet escape of sleep, they pine
is often understated
in dreams they long to lose themselves:
Perhaps they wish to stay
Lost in a land where nothing's work,
And everything is play
Sometimes when life is hard, I too
Abhor my waking hours
I'd like to end all fear and pain;
Alas, I lack the power
Then watching sunlight dying slowly
In the west, I pray
The night will be a coffin for
The worries of the day
So when I lay my head to rest,
In dreams will I awaken
To worlds of endless mystery,
Where silent sighs are sacred
And when the dark of night is pierced
By morning bright and full,
The shadows keep the secrets to
The whispers of the soul
