In the blind times

Of the early morn

When you feel your heart

Empty and fill

At a slower pace,

And thoughts of the

Daily gauntlet-running

And bruises incurred

In the way cause

Trembling and tears,

If but for one moment lift

Upwards a cry to the One

Whose heart only fills

With thoughts of you.
