You see them everywhere-

It's the bum sleeping in the cardboard box.

It's the woman in red on the street corner.

It's the funny smelling old man in the old folks' home.

It's the single mom with three kids to feed.

It's your next-door neighbor who just got marries

for the fourth time.

You see them everywhere, everyday -

And you pass judgement,

put them in neat little boxes,

and feel sorry for them.

But did it ever cross your mind that -

It's you in the mirror

with the perfect smile

and angelic eyes

That could maybe learn something from them?

Have pity on no one

but yourself.
