I can hear the voices crying,

the outrage of the country.

The innocence and normalcy

ended before the five-o-clock bell

by someone with no right

to push the clock ahead.

The flags have lost their glory,

their redness flowing down the poles.

From half their height,

they demonstrate our mourning.

*April 19, 1995 commemorates the date of the Oklahoma City bombing.
