Our Happy Day

The sun is shining brightly

and you are here beside me.

Birds are singing;

children screaming,

and bees are buzzing loudly.

I watch the water speed

through iridescent leaves.

Colors changing,

Rainbows forming,

and shining through the trees.

And it's our happy day,

but all I feel is pain.

Memories changing,

Doubts are forming,

My love - just words I say.

I bittersweet, old poem,

and a painful, fleeting home

remind me of you

are fleeting, too.

One happy day on loan.
