The Actor

Sometimes I'm glad I'm an actor

So I can hide the way I feel,

Sometimes I'm glad I can fake it

So I never have to be real.

You'll never know how I'm feeling

You'll never see me cry,

You'll never be able to detect it,

When I'm telling you a lie.

You'll never have to share my hurt

You'll never really know me.

You'll never reach deep down inside,

and set my feelings free.

Yes, sometimes I'm glad I'm an actor

So I can hide the way I feel.

Yet, sometimes when I'm really hurting

I wish I could be real.
