Fans of the Saugatuck high school football team are having a bad weekend after a crushing loss to the GalesburgAugusta. The upsetting scorewas540attheendofthegame. After the game ( which resulted in many injuries on both sides of the field) the coaches decided to cancel the last two games of the season, but the team is trying to find a junior varsity team that is willing to play areveryownSaugutuckTrialblazers. Let's wish them luck and hope that thisgamewasnotthelast.

WalkAThon

Just one day earlier the Saugatuck Walkathonraisedover65,000dollars and got donations from 33 states as well as the UK and Australia. At the walkathon celebration a dunk tank was placed to the right of the home bleachers, where several teachers andstamembersweredunkedinto frigid water. As tradition, it was 50 degrees fahrenheit and it was raining/snowing outside. Does anyone remember a time when the walkathon wasn't cold and rainy? In addition to the dunk tank there were raes, games and an unplanned football game was played by DES studentsonthefield.

The parade ran by DES students and stamemberswentarounddowntown douglas and back to the school where pie in the face took place. 15 teachers volunteered to be pied in the face! To the kids this was an amazing experience.

BACK ON HALLOWEEN A LOOOOOOONG TIME AGO IN ENGLAND PEOPLE CARVED BEETROOTS AND POTATOES TO SCARE AWAY THE DEAD.

The original tradition of Halloween starts with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain.What is Samhain you say? First of all, the word Samhain is pronounced SAH win, second Samhain is a religion that comes from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition.In current times, Samhain is usually celebrated from October 31 to November 1 to welcome in the harvest and usher in “the dark half of the year.” People who celebrate this holiday believe that the barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, this allows more interaction between humans and spirits from the Otherworld.

MaterialsNeeded:

• 3% hydrogen peroxide solution

• 20ounce bottle (Plastic is Ideal)

•Dishsoap

•Activeyeast

• Lukewarm water (MUST be lukewarm.)

• Food coloring (Optional, makesthefoamlookcool.)

•Parent/guardiansupervision

• A space that will be fine to getwetfoameverywhere

HowtoMakeElephantToothpaste

1.Poura½cupof hydrogen peroxide,¼ cup dish soap, and your choice of foodcoloringinto yourbottle.Shake the bottle to mix the ingredients. Do this in your clean space. I would recommend putting a towel underneath the bottle, which you willseehelpalot.

2. In a different bottle, mix your yeast with lukewarm water. Make sure the water is not too cold (Not reactive) and not too hot (Kills the yeast). Wait about five minutes before going to the next step.(Duringthose 5minutes,youcan get ready for step 3)

3. Whenyouare ready to do the project, pour the ingredientsyoujust mixed into your bottlethatyouwant to use for the “Explosion” . The reaction should happen right after you add the yeast mixture to the bottle.Sitbackand enjoy! Tell your friends, (Or me) if you liked this experiment or what you want to change.

Hydrogen peroxide is a liquid that easily changes into water and oxygen. In this experiment, yeast makes the change faster. Yeast needs warm water to reproduce, so the project won't work as well if you use cold water (no reaction) or very hot water ( kills the yeast). The Dish soap traps the oxygen that was let out, making foam. Food coloring can color the film of the bubbles so you get colored foam. The elephant toothpaste projectisexothermic,(soheatis produced.)This makes the solution warmer, just not hot enoughtocauseburns.

If your horse is being good, you cangiveitatreatlikeacarrotoramint.If youdon'thaveeitherofthosethingsbring your horse outside to eat some grass.The second thing is to make sure your horse gets enough attention. Horses love attention and I have a few ways you can give a horse attention such as brushing and braiding their main and tail. There is a type of order I have to brush my horse in. Some of the brushes you may need to use on your horse are: a hard brush, soft brush, curing comb, and the hoof pick. If you didn't know this, I should tell you now. Make sure you don't pick your horse's right in the middle of his/her hoof.The middle of the horse's hoof is called the frog. The frog is the same thing as your fingernail. When you accidentily cut your nail too deep it will hurt just like how it would feel for a horse. That's all you need to know about Horses.

Our number 1 card game is, of course, Exploding Kittens! This game is very odd.
