The project is perceived as a ever growing idea, morphing the space around it as an efficient and resourceful intervention. To highlight the ever growing nature of the design, the current proposal is one of three phases where the area includes the arches and its surroundings to the Via Malaga and culminating at the piazza Bilbao. This in it further stages will be continuing a;ll the way to join the brown land on the north of the site, across the Navigli Grande and connects the green belt down south leading to Parco Giochi

Wiith this intervention we are getting the quality of space and its usability to improve. As we can see this is a long stretch of green belt in the area and the residents are quite attached to it.
Among the SDG’s in the intervention are:

6. clean water and sanitation - cleaning the canal on the surface and through flora and fauna.
11. sustainable cities and communities

- bicycle paths and running trail to encourage sustainable modes of movement and healthier lifestyles
14. life below water - cleaning the water and phytoremediation preserves and aids the better aquatic life.

The project is situated in moat area across the fortification of Piacenza, a historic city in north Italy. The wall percieved as a barrier, created a disconnect both physically and visually.

The intervention of activating the moat with event arenas, play areas and the slow mobility paths from the new market area to the end of this park would gather crowd. The daturi area and the brown field inside is now a basement parking and a active sports area on the podium, with dog parks and elderly friendly spaces around.
The pathways inside the city also is rennovated for biking and introducing nature based solutions.

MAIN ROAD INSIDE THE ANCIENT WALL
The proposed design is the convert existing parking lane to cycling path, creating a pedestrian path next to the ancient wall, to bring people close to the wall and appreciate its beauty. the existing mus path is made into a well lit running track and walking path.

CROSS ROADS IN THE MOAT, OUTSIDE THE ANCIENT WALL
The two pathways are on either side of a trench for infilteration into the ground or collection of surface run off water. Its also a place walkers to rest under the canopy of trees.

TRIANGLE NEAR THE PORTA BORGHETTO
The proposed intervention is retain the green triangle in the centre, but to replace the paving to cobbel stones, that would reduce the soil sealing, let water infiltration and promote pedestrian access.

The project aims to envelop existing ecological hotspots and corridors and enrich them by bridging these stepping stones, and create a path for a healthier lifestyle for people.
Our strategy is defined by capturing the existing eco-corridors in the city from the Acqua Bella to the Idroscalo Lake, we make way across transport infrastructure lines, past the industrial spaces to the agricultural fields and the river beds further.
The concept is devised by a serpentine curve along the existing tree line and proposed green spaces for slow mobility movement towards the agricultural spaces and eventually ending at the River Lambro. The path also imprints the naturebased solutions and river remediation techniques to tackle the urban challenges and promote biodiversity.

The Arrival marks the entrance to the water pavilion, a glass pavilion, made to stretch man’s engineering of the material glass. Designed to float on a bed of water is the stairwell to the tunnel. One experiences the sudden change in volume while entering the tunnel and whilst exiting the vast yet confined space. Strategically located, this glass structure is now a landmark for Alexio.

The site developed with the core idea of exchange, the historical importance of trade or what was taken and replaced with ingrained into every aspect of the site. The axis dictates the direction of the connection between the city and the river. This gateway from the river elucidates the idea of symmetry and the importance of water and greenery. An amalgamation of nature, glass and concrete, this project in Alexio is a landmark boasting both man’s engineering genius reaching a height and touching people in materiality on a human scale. Biotope Details

The Water Pavilion: The water pavilion beneath the busy piazza is an experience of volumes, of an ever-changing panoramic view of the city of Porto across Duro.

The biotope: It is a third landscape to this project, a biodiversity hotspot away from the reach of humans, disconnected physically from land, but connected visually with a line of underwater lights. This island with its lush greenery attracts migratory birds along the Duro River and is a secluded home to many endemic bird species. The island is a powerhouse for the project, with solar trees sprouting between the greenery. The troughlike nature of the structure gives an impression of a floating island.

The Carrara city is currently a fragmented one, with no clear connections. Through our intervention and after careful analysis of the existing conditions, we aim to reconnect the disconnections and create a homogenous space that gives back life to the city.

The term 11Karatuskd is a japanese art through which gold is used to mend back broken pieces together and thus creating a whole complete system, that not only re-mends the brokeness, but also gives birth to a final product that is even more aesthtically pleasing than the original.
Therefore, our aim is the same. By taking the fragmented areas and reconnecting them, we implement sustainable solutions that give way to not just a city that is whole again, but one that is cleaner and more eco-friendly as well Master Plan

This project aims to build an intimate and exclusive community for the women of Mozambique to unify common interests to learn, achieve and improve their knowledge. The design encourages the women to recognise their ability to build, learn and improve through the exchange of skills that enrich their tradition and culture. The focus of this community is to provide the necessary spaces and meet all the needs to help build a secure place to play, run and discover. This new learning centre is a self-sustained oasis that becomes a source of all basic needs, helping the community to improve and persist.

The workshop was in Association with PL Nervi’s Labrottorio in POLIMI, Lecco and in collaboration with TU Delft, with special attention on the Mincio swimming pool by Nervi that is in dire need of restoration. We were exposed to techniqes of restoration and retrofitting, concrete heritage: the damages and repairs, and finally architectural interventions on heritage structures. We also sutdied the territorial government plan that envisages the creation of parks and green connections between them to establish a green ecosystem network connectingthe entire municipality of Milan. The team also explored the various field of structural calculations for its restoration using HBIM softwares and heritage listing of this structure.

Floor plans of the pool complex

The new ground floor functions as a social space with basic and revised program in the pool, like dedicated shower and changing rooms, with rennovation of flooring and pool. The outdoors has added functions of a deck, solarium, cafe and social spaces for improving foot fall to this pool.
The Accent of Corten for the exterior works, and stairs brings a new change and complements the marvel of PL Nervi’s Mincio Pool.
The terraces are retiled and rennovated as a outdoor party space for activies with a direct access from the courtyard.

Master Plan

A restoration project for the museum, by retaining the function and adding more active spaces for public and administrative areas for regular use. The project is to be made more accessible with slow mobility paths, elevators and escaltors. Interventions shall include access accross the roads, but to keep is mind the improvement of visual connection from the roads. Provisions to be made for all age groups, and respect the privacy of the building spaces while making the proctected area a very active space. The strategy must follow the guidelines of the green city action plan for Tiblisi.

Museum Complex
Exhibition areas, centre for culture and arts with atelier spaces for artists, conference room admin space and services

Social Activation Hub
Co-working area, break out space + cafetaria, Centre for innovation incubation & entrepreneurship, toilets and services
Community Engagement
Arena

Area for weekly market, msuci and movie events, Cultural gatherings and exhibitions, toilets and services.

The project aimed at improvign the microclimate of area selected as case study. Located north east of the city, with the railway infrastructure, bus stand, cement factories, Luna park, and the hisotric wall peripherals. The high soil sealing and construction here, creates hot pockets in the city, barriers for the major winds, missing local wind systems and cool microclimates in the summer. Our interventions are focused on depaving of areas, creating green spaces, linking the green patch of agriculture into the city. The vicinity aroudn the historic wall that is a parking area to be made into a green area, and have a two tier parking along the railway. This also gives life to the ancient walls and a breakout space for residents. The abandoned builing would also be rennovated as a open shelter and a refugee area during the hot summer. The bus stand will now be a green space, with modified paving and trees amidst the station with sun shades Master Plan
