Having executed path breaking projects in the first few years of operation, Solar Tech was known for its innovation and excelled in quality and service. In 2005 Solar Tech was renamed as TeamSustain with the diversification of the firm into other Clean Technologies and with the aim of providing a one stop for green and clean solutions. PROJECT MILESTONES (Since 1994) Solar Photovoltaic and Thermal Projects – Design and development • The World’s first Centralized Solar Hot Water System for a Resort, with cottages spread over 12 acres, designed and installed in 1995 – considered to be a unique engineering feat by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India. • TeamSustain has executed one of the largest Solar Rural Electrification project in the world (Year 1997), at Mundanmudi, in Idukki District in the highlands of Kerala, India where 400 houses of a single village were electrified using solar power. The project also set a new industry standard in the country with TeamSustain offering a five year maintenance contract with locally trained resident technicians. The project was commissioned in the year 1997 and is completing 14 years of successful operation. • Have designed and installed one of the largest Solar Drying project (1999) in the world (900 square meter collector area) for a Marigold flower drying plant at Karamadai, near Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The plant helps to save about 900 litres of diesel per day. • TeamSustain was the first company to introduce Solar Powered Sodium Vapour Street Lighting Systems in India the year 1996. • First to introduce Solar Power Packs in House boats in Kerala in the year 1995-96.
