One-way system at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

Parking update
Parking enforcement
10 January 2025

Thank you to everyone for your support with the new one-way system on site at RSH We know that sometimes change can take a while to become embedded, so please be vigilant when driving on site and follow the road signs instead of just going the way you would ‘normally’ go
The new system is in place at all times, every day and is clearly signposted
Your safety and the safety of our patients, visitors and construction partners is vital Please stay alert, read the signs and drive responsibly.
Please continue to turn left only when exiting Evolution Road If you need to turn right, you can use the Racecourse Lane exit from 4-6 30pm weekdays
The remaining ANPR cameras at RSH will be switched on this month for testing and cameras will be installed at William Farr House before they all go live in February
Parking enforcements will operate in two ways:
Manual enforcement notices may be attached to your windscreen via the parking attendants or you will receive an enforcement notice through the post a few days after the infringement
Examples of why enforcements are issued include: parking in the wrong space (staff parking in patient spaces and vice versa), parking without a valid permit or payment, parking in a loading bay, parking on double yellow lines, parking in a disabled space without a blue badge, parking in a lift share space without the right permits
The Parking Charge Notice (PCN) will clearly state the reason There is more information including how to appeal should you receive a PCN, on the intranet
Patient parking and outpatient letter information - RSH
We have recently updated the information that is sent by the Bookings Team for outpatient appointments This includes an up-to-date map with the one-way system and the most appropriate car parks for different services
If your appointment letters are not sent by the bookings team then we would ask you to update the information you send so that you can direct your patients to the nearest car park You can find the updated information on the intranet
We know that our patients worry about parking If patients have concerns please point them in the right direction, there are always spaces available in car park zone 2, near the Treatment Centre

he car share spaces Either two pink your permit or for more information, tranet hare spaces - RSH

Parking charges - RSH and PRH
Current parking charges for staff are the same as 2019 before the pause for Covid-19 The Trust agreed not to increase or change charges until after April 2025
A new format for charging, which will include a day rate, is being worked on and we will be announcing more details shortly Please continue to use the Park & Ride where possible
Park & Ride update
Patients on the Park & Ride - RSH

We have listened to your feedback about parking and the Park & Ride We will be carrying out a 12 week trial of patients using the Park & RiDE They will be able to use it between the hours of 10am and 3pm so that colleagues can still get to and from work easily during busy times This will be free to patients during the trial period only
During the trial it’s important that we really understand whether this is a viable option and if our patients would actually use it and benefit from it. During the trial, please share this with your patients and families so we can make an informed decision about future schemes
We will be sending more information on this in next couple of weeks
Have you earnt your free drink yet? RSH and PRH
Remember to ask your bus driver for your Park & Ride loyalty card so you can earn your free drink Terms and conditions are on the intranet So far 137 free drinks have been claimed, which is fantastic!

The RSH Park & Ride now runs from 6.20am-9.25pm.
Due to this, the timings have changed on the RSH Park & Ride timetable. Please check before you travel.
