New one-way system at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital

5 December 2024
From 6am on Friday 6 December, we will be introducing a one-way traffic system on parts of the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital site, which will help manage the flow of traffic with more construction vehicles on site
Vehicles entering the site from the roundabout at Mytton Oak Road will be able to travel to and from the ward block, and still exit via the roundabout This will support rapid access for ambulances and people using the Emergency Department After the ward block, the site will become one-way. This means any vehicles travelling beyond the ward block will need to exit the site via Evolution Road and turn left.
If you are entering the site via Evolution Road, it will remain two way up to the mortuary. The main staff car park remains accessible for entry and exit via Evolution Road. Please note when exiting the site via Evolution Road, it will now be left turn only at the junction The exit from the main staff car park onto Racecourse Lane remains available on weekdays between 46pm Please follow the signs on site

Parking at Princess Royal Hospital
We have had a few questions about the parking at PRH With the ongoing construction at RSH, our facilities team have been focused on RSH over the last few months

We will be making improvements and changes to PRH in January 2025. The new parking arrangements will have a clear definition between public and staff car parking We will keep you regularly updated on these changes The changes and new signage will also enable us to be more proactive with our parking enforcements Thank you for your patience and please be assured we are working to fix as many of these issues as possible
FAQ: Will you be introducing a daily parking rate for staff? RSH & PRH
Current parking charges are the same as 2019 before the pause for Covid-19 – these charges did not include a day rate The Trust agreed not to increase or change charges until after April 2025
A new format for charging, which will include a day rate, is being worked on and we will let you know when we have more details
